What is the special feature of eventWiFi?

The term "WiFi" stands for "Wireless LAN" - i.e. "Wireless, local network". This type of data connection is available for private use at home, for public locations such as hotels, or even for events. The technology differs significantly in all these areas.

The following requirements are particularly crucial:

Feature Home WiFi Hotel WiFi Event WiFi
Number of users approx. 5 - 10 approx. 50 - 300 About 50 - tens of thousands
Area up to approx. 200 m² up to approx. 4,000 m² Almost any size area
Performance class Consumer Business Industry

This admittedly somewhat rough overview shows quite clearly the differences between the individual application areas.

Failure safety
In addition, networks in the event sector have to be much more robust, as a failure is usually far more critical than in the home or hotel sector. In a hotel, you can still repair it tomorrow. In the event sector, the event is over tomorrow. Redundancy and particularly fail-safe hardware is therefore another requirement that is a special feature of event networks.

Planning
In the event sector, the planning of the illumination is also particularly relevant. While in the home or hotel sector it is usually possible to measure and install under real conditions, the preparation of events generally takes place without guests present. However, since people strongly influence the transmission properties of WiFi installations, this factor must be taken into account. WiFi in an empty event location behaves completely differently than when many guests later fill the room.

Hardware
In order to be able to supply a large number of users with a manageable amount of hardware, the individual components must also be particularly powerful and also designed for extreme conditions (keywords: "rain, snow and cold"). Of course, unlike at home and in hotels, the technology in the event sector is also constantly transported back and forth. The devices must also be able to cope with this load.

Conclusion
The requirements for eventWiFi are the highest of all possible WiFi applications. The systems must be mobile, robust, powerful and reliable. A FritzBox is a wonderful solution within one's own four walls. At an event, however, you won't be happy with it. However, a well-planned eventWiFi with the right technology can be the foundation for modern events and all digital production components because it works reliably.
