Internet via radio relay

Gigabit bandwidth for your event

Point-to-point radio technology enables high-speed internet in places without infrastructure. Ideal for temporary events such as festivals, trade fairs and special events.

How does Internet via microwave work?

The technology is based on the transmission of high-frequency waves from a transmitter to a receiver. As the two points require a line of sight, the transmitter is usually mounted at a high location. From there, it is aligned with the receiver module, to which very high bandwidths can be transmitted even many kilometers away.

How does the provision of radio relay work?

We ensure uncomplicated provision of Internet access via radio relay. This includes the installation of an antenna at our customers' premises, which is aligned with a central transmitter. For the benefit of cost efficiency, the bandwidth is flexibly adapted to your needs.

Where can Internet be offered via microwave?

Eventnet offers point-to-point Internet primarily in the greater Berlin area , from central points such as the Berlin TV tower. However, if required and upon request, we can also provide our point-to-point solutions in other metropolitan areas , provided there is a line of sight to the transmitter. This requires a lead time of 1 to 2 weeks before the start of the project.

Frequently asked questions & answers

What is the advantage of Internet via microwave over traditional Internet?

Internet via radio relay offers extremely fast and low-latency Internet connections even in areas where conventional broadband connections are not available. It is ideal for temporary events and locations where only a slow connection or no connection at all is available.

There is also no need to lay cables, as the signal is transmitted wirelessly.

If bandwidth is required up to 500 Mbit/s, a Multi-LTE case or a satellite connection is an alternative. However, if more bandwidth is required, this is only possible via a fixed connection or via a radio link.

Radio relay connections are considered to be very stable. They are less susceptible to physical damage as they do not use cables. However, they can be affected by extreme weather conditions. Our technology is designed to minimize such interference and ensure high reliability. For example, the signal is transmitted over several frequency bands simultaneously to compensate for fluctuations.

One of the strengths of radio relay is its fast and uncomplicated setup. In the greater Berlin area, we can set up a connection within a few days, sometimes even hours, of the request, making it ideal for short-term or temporary needs.

Lead times in the greater Berlin / Brandenburg area:

Lead times in other regions

To receive Internet via radio relay, you need a radio relay antenna, which we install on your premises. This antenna is aligned with our transmitter. Otherwise, no special equipment is required.

The connection can also be used with your existing network and devices.

In the greater Berlin / Brandenburg area, we can realize bandwidths of up to 10 gigabits for uploads and downloads.

In other regions, the available bandwidths vary depending on the region and must be determined for each project. However, 500 Mbit/s can be assumed as the minimum available bandwidth in most cases.
